Tourist Tariff
The
tariff is set by the Royal Government of Bhutan. The normal rate for travel in
Bhutan is US $200 per person per night during high season and $165 during low
season.
Smaller
groups pay daily surcharges of:
• Two people traveling
together - US $30 per night per person
• Individuals
traveling alone- US $40 per night per
person
High Season: Tariff
from January to April and August to December:
1. Group of 3
persons or more: US $200/- per person per night
2. Group of 2
persons: US $230/- per person per night
3. 1 person: US $
240/- per night
Low Season: Tariff in June to July:
1. Group of 3
persons or more: US $165/- per person
per night
2. Group of 2
person : US $195/- per person per night
3. 1 person : US $205/- per night
*The rates are same for cultural tours,
treks or any other special interest tours.
Tour package cost is inclusive of the following:
1. 35% of royalty and taxes to the government
2. Accommodation on twin sharing basis
3. Transportation within Bhutan
4. Guide service
5. Meals (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
6. Tea and snacks
7. All sightseeing as specified in itinerary
8. Riding ponies and pack animals on treks
9. Entrance fees to temples and monuments
The
cost does not include:

Fund
The above rates are applicable per tourist per night
halt in Bhutan. On the day of departure
,the host agent's obligation shall be limited to breakfast only and any extra
requirement shall be payable on actual basis.
Discount on Tourist Tariff
•
No Charge for
children up to the age of 5 years. Children between the ages of 6 to 12
years accompanied by their elders/guardians shall be given 40%
discount on daily rates.
•
Full time students
below the age of 25 years holding valid identity card from their academic
institutions shall also be given a 25% discount on daily rates.
•
A discount of 50% on
daily rates shall be given to one person in a group of 11 to 15 persons and 100%
discount to one person in a group exceeding 16 persons.
CANCELLATION
Tour
programs booked and subsequently cancelled shall be subject to cancellation
charges as follows:
• Within 45 days of the
start of the tour program is free
• Within 30 days - 15 %
of the rate
• Within 21 days- 20%
of the rate
•
Within 7 days- 30% of
the rate
•
After arrival in
Bhutan : 100%
DELAYED ARRIVAL / DEPARTURES
The
is no charge for delays in arrival and departure because of weather conditions
disrupting flights or road blocks. The tourist must however bear the cost of
food, accommodation, transportation and other services required.
PAYMENT METHODS
The
payment for tours and airline tickets have to be wire transferred to our tour
operators' account with Bhutan National Bank. We will gladly make the transfers

Visa Information
A
valid passport and Bhutanese Visa is required for traveling into Bhutan. No
foreign missions or Embassies abroad grants Bhutan Tourist Visa. To travel to Bhutan, the validity of your
passport should be minimum of 6 months
All information as mentioned in the visa form
should be forwarded at least three weeks prior to the date of travel to process
it with the concerned authorities. .
Visas are issued only when you arrive in the country, either at Paro
Airport or (if by road) at Phuentsholing.
We
will handle the visa procedure for you. The Government of Bhutan will sanction
the visa only after the receipt of the full payment in advance. The cost of
visa is $20 for 14 days period which can be further extended with an additional
fee of US $15. Visa fee is paid along with the tour payment and the actual
Bhutan VISA will be stamped on your passport on arrival at Paro Airport.
For
all travelers , entering into the country by road through Phuenstholing (border
town in the south of Bhutan), the visa is stamped on your passport on arrival
at Phuentsholing.
Visa
applications must reach at least three weeks prior to your arrival date to
allow time for processing and during festival seasons the details should be
sent at least 8 weeks in advance as this is the peak time for tourists visiting
Bhutan.
